With just under 1700 people, the small-town charm is prominent in Ellijay, Georgia. Found in Gilmer County, the population is small but there are two rivers that surround the area.
Annual Festivities
The annual Apple Festival in October is the highlight for many of these residents. The two rivers near the City are Cartacay and the Ellijay. The median household income for people living in this town was just under $30,000. It is seen as a popular place for adventure because of the many opportunities to access rivers, trails, vineyards, and orchards.

The Georgia Apple Blossom Festival is also held in this small town, and the mile climate of the region makes it a great place to visit at any time of the year. Carters Lake provides the opportunity to relax by the water or to take out a pontoon but many camping amenities make it a great place to host a campfire as well.
